A Local Christmas: Treat your loved ones to creative gifts from Zebediah's

For sentimental people, buying Christmas gifts can be a tricky task. If you’re finding yourself stuck in a rut when it comes to buying that special gift for someone who isn’t interested in bath salts and chocolates, why not head over to Zebediah’s Gallery in Launceston for some gift-spiration?

We caught up with Rene Trewern from Zebediah’s, who told us more about what customers can expect from their range of art and handmade gifts this festive season.

Hi Rene! Tell us a bit about yourself and your lovely business…

Hi Rosie! In June 2017, Zebediah’s opened to give a collective of over 30 artists and craftspeople the opportunity to showcase under one roof with shared responsibilities. Who knew that four years later we would still have some of the original members going strong and some fabulous new talents discovered?!

Are you looking forward to the festive season ahead, and do you expect it to be busier now restrictions have lifted?

Each and every Christmas so far has been fantastic and surpassed our expectations. Launceston people have been very supportive of our idea and shop from the very start and every year has been better than the one before. Even during lockdown they supported us by using our online service on the website, which is always available for a quick solution if you can’t get to us.

What are the top items in Zebediah’s that you think would make perfect Christmas gifts?

Almost everything, so it would be really hard to choose! Heather Jane’s recycled bottle lamps are always a winner! A beautiful handmade handbag, a glass tree decoration, a pebble family portrait or even a mini painting of some of our local scenes. And do remember that we have absolutely stunning art Christmas cards available and some stocking fillers from as little as £2.

Why should people be shopping locally this year?

People should shop locally every year if they possibly can. It’s vital to keep our high streets alive and it puts money and services back into the community rather than the pockets of the fat cats.

Where can people find you, and what are your Christmas opening times?

You can find us at 5 Church street, or with selected products online which we will wrap and send straight to a recipient if you so desire at www.zebediahs.com

We will be open normal hours and additionally on all late night Fridays. We will be closed on the 25th, 26th and 27th December. 01566 249305.
