Autumn events coming to Lanson!

Wrap up warm and head into Launceston this autumn for a variety of fun events bursting with community spirit!


September


Oktoberfest, Friday 30th September - Join Firebrand Brewery for a night of live music, beer and great food, celebrating German festivities. Launceston Town Band, DJ Gareth Lancaster and Ex-Presidents will be the music offering of the evening, plus there will be a variety of beers, including a traditional German lager, and the taproom will be serving a range of other drinks.



October


Launceston Carnival, Saturday 8th October - Launceston Carnival returns after a two-year break to bring the great carnival procession and events to town. There will be games, activities, music and hot food in the Square all day, along with the carnival royalty crowning at 12pm.

The carnival procession will start from Newport Industrial Estate at 7.15pm and make its way to the Square, following its usual route. The carnival committee welcomes groups to get involved - visit http://launceston-carnival.co.uk/ for more information.


The Magic of Charlie Bears, Monday 17th October to Monday 31st October - Join Charlie Bears at their Bearhouse this October half term to find magic potion bottles hidden amongst the bears on display to reveal a secret word that can break the spell that has been cast over the Bearhouse, and win you a prize! Visit anytime between 17th and 31st October, 10am-4pm, to take part.


Halloween with the Charles Causley Trust, Friday 28th October - Join the Charles Causley Trust at Launceston Town Hall for some spooky goings on! Featuring a ghostly town walk, tales of witchcraft and folklore, plus spooky music and poems with folksinger Jim Causley, paranormal investigator Karin Beasant and the Jamaica Inn paranormal team, Simon Costin from Dockacre House and the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle, and folklore expert Mark Norman, this is an event to get you in the mood for the most frightful time of year.


Horror Night at Launceston Tabletop Gaming, Sunday 30th October - Between 5pm-11pm, come and play spooky games at South Petherwin Village Hall. Members play board games, card games, RPGs and war games every Sunday night.

There will be a special focus on Halloween-themed games for all ages including Call of Cthulhu and other Lovecraftian games; Mysterium; Betrayal at House on the Hill; One Night Ultimate Werewolf; Horrified; and lots more. Join in a game or bring your own - you can even dress up, if you like!

November

Launceston Coronation Park Fireworks Display, Friday, 4th November - This exciting annual event returns again this year to put on a spectacular fireworks display in honour of Guy Fawkes Night.

Gather at Coronation Park at 7pm to watch the beacon be lit, followed by the fireworks display at 7.15pm.

Ticket prices are £5 per adult with children free, and can be purchased from the TIC in the White Hart Arcade, with profits going towards improving Coronation Park.
