Doggy trails for waggy tails: A riverside walk along Lerryn Creek and the Fowey Estuary

Joanne Tennant owner of Dog Walking with Care takes us on a stunning riverside walk alongside Lerryn Creek and the Fowey Estuary. If you are feeling fearless at low tide use the stepping stones to cross the river!

Starting at the free car park near to the Lerryn’s Riverside Shop, Fore Street Lerryn Cornwall PL22 0PT, turn left at the shop to walk across the medieval bridge. Take the first left and turn left again at the T junction heading towards the river.

Follow the tarmac byway to the Granary to reach the wooded path, continue until you reach a way mark post.

Take the left path downwards, to cross a small creek always keeping the river on your left. Follow this windy path up to meet a wide Forestry Commission ride, keep left fora short while.

At the second woodland path exit from the left, descending down some steps.

Exit the wooded path to re-join the wide gravel Forestry Commission ride and continue ahead again keeping the river on your left and moving onto a path.

Follow the hedge on your left to cross another stile to walk across a second field onto a board walk footbridge and the final stile.

Follow the water’s edge to a slipway, turn right past a romantic cottage towards St Winnow Church.

Retrace your footsteps to return to Lerryn.
