English Spirit launches ticket sales for new distillery

Visitors are now able to book Tour & Tasting experiences at English Spirit’s brand new distillery at Treguddick Manor, Launceston, when it opens in October.

With World's Best Vodka, World's Best Gin and World's Best Rum awards under their belts, the distillery is set to be a fantastic, state-of-the-art place to visit, with a visitors centre, bar, cafe and shop opening on the 1st October. However, due to demand the English Spirit team has decided to allow customers to book tours now via their website.

There will be three fascinating tour options available to visitors; the first being a ‘General Tour & Tasting’, as well as a ‘Gin Tour & Tasting’ and a ‘Rum Tour & Tasting’, where visitors can revel in the intricacies of making each spirit from scratch.

The ‘General Tour’ will be on offer seven days a week, giving visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand how the dedicated team produces the widest variety of spirits and liqueurs distilled in the UK, all under one roof. Using their pioneering copper pot distillation techniques, English Spirit are proud to produce every drop from scratch, one of only a few distilleries in England to do this, meaning guests can learn about the full distillation process. From the raw ingredients which go into the still, the fermentation process, all the way through to bottling up, visitors will learn about the artisan process before enjoying a guided tasting, where visitors will have the opportunity to sample a range of spirits, including Britain’s original rum, their glorious Dr J’s Gin, mouth-watering vodka, smooth single malt, and divine fruit liqueurs.

Both the gin and rum tours will be available to book twice a week, where the tour coordinator will delve deeper into the technicalities of producing both of these popular spirits.

The rum tour is one of Britain’s only rum-focused distillery tours, where visitors will learn about English Spirit’s pioneering technique of fermenting 100% pure sugar cane molasses, to create their rich, flavourful rum, which have been awarded a ‘World’s Best’ title.

James Lawrence, general manager at Treguddick, said:“We're extremely excited to open up this one-of-a-kind distillery and visitor experience, which will combine our distilling expertise with produce from one of the UK's top food & drink producing regions to produce truly spectacular results. We hope to make a fine addition to the thriving Cornish food & drink scene. We can't wait!”

When visitors book on a distillery tour and tasting, they will also be invited to wander around the geodesic domes installed on the west paddock of Treguddick. Inspired by the Eden Project, the domes will house over 30 varieties of plants and botanicals, growing fresh produce used in the spirits and restaurant, offering visitors a sensory experience like no other, in line with the distillery’s ethos of showcasing the best the South West has to offer to tourists and locals alike.

The tour and tasting experiences are priced at £20 per person, last 90 minutes, and are available to book now, via the English Spirit website: https://www.englishspirit.uk/treguddick, commencing on Friday 1st October, when the distillery officially opens.
