Do you want to be part of a new project to create a wildlife haven in Launceston? Well, now’s your chance.
Launceston Community Development Trust (LCDT) are working with a volunteer-led group passionate about the environment and the wellbeing of the community to create an open space and woodland while connecting the community to nature and its local wildlife.
The vision is for this to be one of many open spaces for Launceston to enjoy, while promoting woodland activities and creating a haven for people in our community to connect, socialise and have a positive impact on the environment.
There will be two phases to the project - phase 1 will see the proposed space cleared and made safe for the community, while phase 2 will focus on reintroducing plant species and creating a woodland and wildflower meadow.
But as much as this is a project to improve the town’s biodiversity and environmental impact, it is also very much about the community, which is why LCDT wants you to be involved in this vital initiative.
From donating your time, to sponsoring a tree or a bench, the Forest for Launceston will be brought to life if the community pledges its support. To donate, go to https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/forest-for-launceston
