Launceston photographer awarded prestigious title

Mark Theisinger ABIPP of Launceston Cornwall has just been awarded the prestigious title of Reportage & Photojournalism Photographer of the Year 2022 with the British Institute of Professional Photography.

To win the prestigious title, Mark’s image scored the highest points among the other 1200 entries. The British Institute of Professional Photography Awards, which is the leading qualifying body for professional photographers, celebrates the very best international photography, highlighting some of the most creative emerging talent.


This award recognises the excellence in standards above all others. Talking about this year’s submissions and the winning image, CEO Martin Baynes said: “The quality of this year’s entries was very high, with many wonderful and creative images in all genres. Myself and the judges

were blown away by the talent and creativity shown.”

Choosing a winner from such a mass of talent was never going to be easy, the judges gave considerable thought to every single image entered. Judges of the winning image said: “A very deserving winner, showing great skill, expertise and dedication to this art form.”


Mark said: “Although I couldn’t attend the awards ceremony for my photo featuring last year’s royal visit to Launceston, it was an honour to have the presentation from HM The King’s official representative and have him and the Mayor visit my studio.”
