Launceston Steam and Vintage Rally returns this May!

Launceston Steam and Vintage Rally is back for its 39th year and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Organised and run by a group of volunteers of all ages and from all backgrounds, the Steam and Vintage Rally is held in Five Lanes, just outside of Launceston. Held over three days, during the late May bank holiday weekend, it ties in perfectly with the local school holidays and presents the perfect opportunity to take the whole family along for some good old fashioned Cornish fun!

It wouldn’t be a steam and vintage rally without some engines, right? Well, it's a good job there are plenty at the Launceston Steam and Vintage Rally! From moving and stationary steam engines, to motorbikes, vintage vehicles and everything in between, there is sure to be something that will catch your attention and wow the crowds.

But it doesn't just stop at steam engines -there are fairground rides, a craft tent, a great selection of trade and catering stands, as well as the all important bar which is well stocked. In addition to this, there will be activities in the main ring throughout all days to provide some entertainment for all ages, plus live music and a dog show will be located across the showground. Don’t just take our word for it, come and join in with the fun!

Onsite camping is available, so if you have a tent at home, waiting to be used to make the most of the lovely late spring weather, why not enjoy the whole weekend without missing a thing?

At the helm, leading the rally, is Dexter the loveable mascot, who will be making appearances throughout the weekend and loves to pose for a picture or two. Chloe the clown will also be drifting around the grounds to make the little ones laugh! And if that’s not enough, make sure you treat the kids to a fun ride on the tractors, take them on the children’s treasure hunt or get them stuck in on the children’s tug of war, and don’t forget to let them loose on the fairground rides!

Remember to bring your camera or smartphone to take some photos throughout the weekend, capturing those special memories forever! The rally moved to its current location in 2009, after spending many years prior to that based at Launceston Rugby Club. Realising the event was becoming more and more popular since it first began in 1982, organisers made the decision to make the move to Five Lanes, so it could continue to grow and welcome more visitors each year

The 39th Launceston Steam and Vintage Rally takes place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 27th, 28th and 29th May 2023. Gates open at 9am each day. Free parking is available, and disabled access throughout the grounds. Tickets for the day, camping and evening entertainment can be purchased on the website - www.launcestonsteamrally.com
