Dexy Souter has secured the title of Miss Junior Teen Cornwall 2023/24 and is all set to represent our county in the Miss Junior Teen Great Britain pageant.
The pageant’s chosen charity is ‘Together for Short Lives’ and Dexy is working hard to raise funds for this inspiring charity.
Dexy told Launceston Life: “Together for Short Lives’ vision is for children and young people in the UK with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families to have as fulfilling lives as possible, and the best care at the end of life. It truly is such an amazing charity, and I am honoured to be playing my part in raising money to support them.”
Dexy has a passion for music and attends the South West Music School outside of her regular school commitments. Dexy hopes to use her musical skills to raise funds for the chosen charity and intends to record and publish an original song that she has dedicated to ‘Together for Short Lives’. Dexy is also planning a fundraising event that will showcase local singer/songwriters.
Launceston’s very own Lowen Bridal have been a huge support and are very kindly sponsoring Dexy for Miss Junior Team GB.
Dexy said: “I’ve adored their displays since I was little and admire them every time I walk past. Sam, the owner, is lovely and so helpful and I’ve known the seamstress, Julie Milne, from a young age and so I am very excited to have them as a sponsor.
“I’m so excited to be representing Cornwall in Miss Junior Teen Great Britain! I am so proud of where I live. I have lived here my whole life and it really is the most beautiful part of the country!”
We wish Dexy the best of luck in raising funds for ‘Together for short lives’ and for the finals of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain which take place on October 13th- 15th 2023.
Also competing is 14-year-old Scarlet Bruton from Davidstow. Scarlet attends Launceston College and is a Miss Junior Teen North Cornwall finalist.
